# Disabling New Loan Assignment for a Lender User
It may be necessary to disable new loan assignment for a lender user, either permanently or temporarily, to prevent additional loans from being assigned. This is particularly useful if a user is going on an extended leave, or if they are leaving the company and you wish to keep their pipeline intact for visibility or reporting purposes.
To disable the ability for new loans to be assigned for a particular user, navigate to the user management screen, and click on the user to open the user's profile.
Next, scroll down to the section of their profile labeled "Site Roles".
Click on the "Edit roles for" dropdown, and note any site where the user has an active role.
Click on each site in the dropdown, and remove the role by clicking the "X" next to the role.
After completing this process for all roles and teams, double check the roles view to confirm that the user is no longer active in any roles or on any teams.
Click "Ok" to save your changes. This user is now no longer able to be assigned to new loan files.
