LPA v6.0 Update

We’ve updated our integration with Freddie Mac’s Loan Product Advisor to support the new LPA v6.0 API, ahead of Freddie Mac’s planned retirement of version 5.3 in March 2026.

This upgrade delivers two major improvements for lenders and loan officers:

1. Enhanced Feedback Certificate

Freddie Mac has redesigned the Feedback Certificate to help users identify key insights faster. Updates include:

  • A layout optimized to highlight actionable information

  • Fewer pages returned

  • Updated terminology aligned with the Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA) and broader industry language

  • More consistent, standardized feedback messages

Sample of Freddie Mac's redesigned feedback certificate.

2. Reduced Dataset Requirements

LPA v6.0 allows requests without several previously required “edge case” data points. This means your system can now submit LPA without fields such as:

  • BalloonIndicator

  • InterestOnlyIndicator

  • NegativeAmortizationIndicator

These values now default within LPA when not provided, reducing what your team must collect to run an assessment.

More Information on LPA

This will be automatically updated for all organizations leveraging Maxwell's LPA integration.

For more technical details on LPA v6.0 including updated schemas, new data points, and other request/response file changes, refer to Freddie Mac’s LPA v6.0 Specification Bulletin below.

If your organization hasn’t enabled LPA within the Maxwell POS and would like to set up this integration, reach out to [email protected]envelope.

Lender Concessions

Maxwell’s Lender Concessions feature is available for lenders using Optimal Blue and Encompass who want Loan Officers to request and share lender concessions directly within the Point of Sale.

This feature helps Loan Officers incorporate concession pricing into borrower conversations and streamline concession requests.

Key Capabilities

With Lender Concessions enabled, Loan Officers can:

  • Calculate lender concessions directly within the POS

  • Share concession discounts with borrowers during early-stage pricing scenarios to highlight added value

  • Submit concession requests from the POS to Optimal Blue for approval

This functionality improves transparency in borrower pricing discussions and reduces manual steps in the concession request process.

Lender Concessions allows you to calculate concessions amounts within your approval limits within the POS.
LO's can also request rate locks with concession from the point of sale.

How to Enable

If your organization uses Encompass and Optimal Blue and would like to enable Lender Concessions, an organization admin should contact [email protected].

Our Customer Success team will guide you through the setup process and confirm that your concession limits and approval settings are properly configured in the Point of Sale.

Joint Credit Authorization

We have updated the Joint Credit user experience on co-borrower applications to improve usability and strengthen compliance with FCRA and ECOA best practice standards.

Key Updates to the Borrower Credit Experience

  • Explicitly capture credit authorization from each borrower on all joint credit applications when a credit integration is enabled.

  • Explicitly capture a joint credit authorization on all co-borrower applications when a credit integration is enabled.

  • Waiting to run automated credit pulls until after each borrower has logged in and provided the required authorizations.

These updates help ensure clear borrower consent to credit and support compliance with applicable credit authorization requirements.

Document AI Classification Enhancements

Support for multiple document type on a task

Tasks now support selecting more than one document type for classification. This drastically increases the flexibility and configurability of task templates. For example, an "Income" task can now accept Paystubs, W-2s, Pension Award Letters, or any other selected document types.

Document categories

For certain document types which are often combined, we have introduced generic document categories. For example, when selecting a document type, users can now select "1099", which will automatically approve the various 1099 document types (1099-DIV, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, etc.)
