SmartFees
Cotality (formerly CoreLogic) SmartFees allows lenders to retrieve accurate, regional fees using loan data with workflows for pre-qualification and full quotes.
To use the SmartFees integration, lenders must first pull pricing in the Maxwell Point of Sale. SmartFees uses data returned from the pricing engine, such loan program, term, and amortization type, to generate accurate loan fee information. For this reason, a pricing engine integration is required as a prerequisite to using SmartFees.
Running SmartFees in the POS
After selecting a Loan Program in the Loan Pricer screen, Loan Officers can choose to run SmartFees on the selected loan program:

SmartFees + Encompass Integration
If you are using the Encompass LOS, the SmartFee ID is sent to Encompass when the loan application is synced. By default, this uses Encompass field ID 4496 ("Lender Fee Quote ID to Support Fee Data Imports").
After syncing the loan to Encompass, lenders can pull the fees from SmartFees to Encompass using the "Service Orders" workflow inside Encompass. When the SmartFees order is place, SmartFees will recognize the existing loan and will import the fees as seen from the POS. This ensures continuity between SmartFees and your Encompass system, including any custom fee mapping you have already created.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do customers manage the setup and enabling of SmartFees or will Maxwell configure the integration?
Maxwell will manage the setup of the integration. The Maxwell Customer Success Manager (CSM) will request the SmartFees UserID from the customer, usually at the time of initial client onboarding while setting up other systems.
Will the client be testing in the SIT environment during implementation?
This depends on the customer's needs. Some customers do not have separate Maxwell Staging / PROD instances, in which case we would not be testing in the SmartFees SIT instance. Other customers do have a Maxwell Staging environment, which we could configure to test with SmartFees SIT.
Adding another dimension, some customers have UAT Encompass instances, which they would use for testing.
Maxwell can support any of the permutations, depending on the needs of the customer.
Will clients have access to test in SIT when they go live?
Similar to above, this will depend on which instances the client has available in Maxwell and their testing requirements before go-live. We can support ongoing access to a SIT environment after production go-live.
Who will be the Point of Contact on your side if there are questions during onboarding?
Maxwell customers have an assigned Customer Success Manager (CSM), who is always their primary contact.
Who will be the post go live contact for our support team?
Post go-live, customers can contact either the Customer Success Manager (CSM) or the Maxwell Customer Support Helpdesk for questions or issues.
Can a customer make changes to the fee mapping? If a customer wants to map a fee to a specific name, then how do these updates look?
Yes, customers can make changes to fee mapping inside SmartFees. Maxwell will retrieve and display the fees as they are named/mapped inside SmartFees.
Once synced to Encompass, customers can pull the fees from SmartFees into Encompass. This integration will leverage whatever mapping is already established between these systems, ensuring that the fees displayed in the Maxwell Point of Sale make it to the appropriate fee fields in Encompass.
