Basic Workflows

Sharing your application link is the easiest way to direct borrowers to start an application. You can share the link directly via email or text, or include the link in marketing materials such as email signatures, your website, or social media.

When a borrower clicks the link, they’ll be taken directly to your loan application. Once they begin the application and create an account, their loan file will automatically appear in your pipeline.

To get your application link

  1. Go to your Loan Pipeline.

  2. In the upper-right corner of the header, click the box with the arrow icon (the “Share Application Link” button).

  1. When the window opens, copy your application link.

  2. Paste the link wherever you want to share it: email, text message, your website, or marketing materials.

  3. When a borrower clicks the link, they’ll be taken directly to your application landing page to begin their loan application.

Create a New Application

If you already have a borrower’s contact information, you can start the application on their behalf.

  1. Log in and go to your Loan Pipeline.

  2. Click + New Application.

  3. Enter the borrower’s contact information.

  4. (Optional) Check the box to email the borrower when the file is created.

  5. Select the site (if applicable).

  6. Add a team template and/or select the team members who will work on the file.

  1. Click Create

  2. Locate the new file at the top of your pipeline (filter by Start Date and it should appear at the top) and click to open it.

  3. To begin completing the application, open the Application tab and start entering the borrower’s information.

Advaced Workflows

Import from 3.4 MISMO

Import from MISMO 3.4

If you or a partner (such as a real estate agent or broker) collected application data in another system that exports a valid MISMO 3.4 XML file, you can upload that file into Maxwell to start a new loan and pre-fill the application.

  1. Log in and go to the Lender Pipeline.

  2. Click the dropdown to the right of New Application.

  3. Select Import from MISMO 3.4.

  4. Upload the MISMO 3.4 XML file to create the loan file and populate the application data.

  1. Select the site and the team that will be assigned to the file.

  2. After the file uploads successfully, you can immediately open the application and continue working the file.

Import from LOS

Some of our LOS integrations allow you to import the file directly from an LOS ID. When that feature is available for your LOS you will find it in the same place as the import from 3.4

  1. Login and from the lender pipeline

  2. Select the v dropdown to the right of New Application

  3. Select Import from LOS

  4. Copy and paste Loan ID from the LOS. Follow the tooltip instructions to find the ID in your LOs

  1. Select the site and team that will be assigned to the file

  2. On successful upload you can immediately view the application and continue working the file

Copy a loan file to a new application

If you already had a loan application file with a borrower and you wanted to start another application, you can copy the majority of their information from an existing file. This is great for scenarios like a borrower doing a second for a downpayment, serial applicants who does investment properties, or a previous purchaser who's looking to refinance.

  • In these scenarios scroll all the way to the right side of the pipeline to find ... dropdown. Click on that dropdown and select + Start New Application

  • Select the option Yes, import borrower information

  • After a brief processing time, you'll open into the new loan file with most of the information from the previous app copied over.

To copy and existing borrowers appplication, click start new applicaiton from the row of that borrower.

Lender Landing Page

A lender landing page is an optional, advanced feature your organization can use to host application links and enhance the borrower experience. These pages allow you to customize the look and feel of the application entry point by sharing information about your institution and creating a more welcoming introduction for borrowers.

Depending on your pricing engine integrations, you may also be able to display quick-quote and featured-rate widgets. These tools help streamline the borrower journey by giving them useful information before they begin the application.

Landing pages are accessible as a dedicated page on your main site, following a URL pattern such as:

www.(your-site).com/(your-landing-page-title)

For example, the demo landing page below follows this format: https://vision.mhsite.loan/welcome

Feel free to explore this demo page for inspiration.

Loan Officer Page

Loan Officer pages are similar to landing pages, but they also display personal information about the Loan Officer. These pages are useful for business cards, personal website links, and email invitations. Another important benefit is that any application started from a Loan Officer page is automatically assigned to that Loan Officer. This ensures that all notifications and emails related to the application are sent to the correct person.

Loan Officer pages follow the URL pattern:

www.(your-site).com/people/(agent-slug)

The agent slug is defined in the User Management page, which is documented here.

For example, you can view a sample Loan Officer page here: https://vision.mhsite.loan/people/John
